Announcing a series of community events…

Bradwell Action Network (BAN) was first formed in early 2019 in response to the developer’s initial consultation on the proposed Bradwell B nuclear power plant. Our aim from the start was to protect our communities, heritage, and environment from the adverse impacts the project represented.

Since then, the group has continued to grow and evolve, yet our focus remains the same, protecting the wonderful area of Bradwell on Sea and the wider Dengie peninsular for current and future generations.

Part of our efforts to protect our beautiful part of the world is to bring about a wider understanding of the abundance and nature of our natural and cultural treasures to our communities.

We are delighted to announce a new initiative – a series of regular talks to celebrate and inform called Nature in Your Neighbourhood

The first talk will be held on September 28th at 7:30 pm in the Village Hall Parish Room when Dr Malcom Hardy (Visiting Fellow, University of Essex, School of Life Sciences) will be talking about “Traditional oyster aquaculture in the Blackwater Estuary. The talks will take place in the Village Hall, on the 4th Wednesday of every month, starting in September. Refreshments & cakes will also be served, along with a warm welcome for old friends and new. So please join us for a fun and informative evening.

Admission is FREE with a suggested donation of £2 towards costs, refreshments & cakes. There will also be a raffle and BAN T-shirts on sale.
